My approach to photographing weddings



My approach to photographing weddings is to artfully tell the story of your day. I will capture candid and “in between” moments all throughout the day as well as create beautifully composed portraits. I love working with natural light when it is good, but I also have the ability to create beautiful light when it is not. You can also expect me to add in some creative shots with a cinematic feel. Regardless of the moment, I want your photos to undeniably capture the authenticity of your day.

  • Pre wedding meeting to build your timeline and plan your vision.
  • Highlights delivered shortly after your wedding.
  • Online gallery with your edited, full resolution images.

How many photos do you deliver from our wedding and what is the turnaround time?

Wedding galleries will typically include around 800-1,200 edited photos delivered around 6-8 weeks after your wedding.* I will also deliver some highlights shortly after the wedding!


*Turnaround times can vary based on the seasonal workload.

What is your editing style and what does the process look like?

My editing style is true to life with a little artistic flair. I aim for accurate skin tones. I may use editing techniques to draw the eye to key elements in a photograph or bring out the vision I had while capturing it. While I am a very capable editor, I am also careful not to over edit.

What are the benefits to having two photographers instead of one? How do you select your second photographer?

Some benefits include:

  • We can be in multiple locations at the same time. Getting ready, cocktail hour, and the reception are the primary times when this is helpful.
  • Different perspectives of important moments are really nice to have.
  • They can assist me during portraits with lighting and organizing family / group photos to help things move along smoothly (this is HUGE).
  • Extra assurance that things will not be missed.
  • Sometimes, my wife likes their photos more than mine.

I select my second shooters from a small group of professional photographers (and friends) that I have been working with for many years. I surround myself with good people and love the people that I work with. This absolutely comes through in how we work together and the final product.

Do you recommend a first look?

This is 100% your choice and the following is only my opinion. I have captured many weddings with and without a first look and we take amazing photos either way. I see two primary reasons to do a first look:

  1. Designated portrait time prior to your ceremony can help facilitate a more relaxed day overall and allows you to enjoy cocktail hour or a quite moment to yourselves after the ceremony.
  2. Nerves! I see many couples holding onto a lot of tension that can just melt away seeing their person. It gives you a private moment to connect and check in with one another before the day kicks off.
What are your package prices?

My photography prices start at $3,200. Couples spend an average of $4,500 on photography services and an average of $7,500 on combined photography and videography services. Reach out for my complete pricing guide and a custom quote.
